Profhilo®, Sculptra® or Radiesse®: what is the difference?

All three are injected, all three work on the skin from within and they are often mentioned together. But they do not contain the same thing or aim for the same result. This comparison helps you understand the differences before discussing them with the doctor.

What they have in common

All three are CE-marked medical devices injected by a doctor. None of them is a classic filler used to shape a specific area, like lip hyaluronic acid: they work on the quality of the skin or its support. And with all three, the change is assessed over time, not as you leave the clinic.

Profhilo®: for dull or dehydrated skin

Profhilo® spreads under the skin to work on its hydration, tone and texture, without changing your features. It is mostly requested by people whose skin looks tired or less elastic, and who are not looking for volume. More details on the Profhilo® page.

Sculptra®: to stimulate collagen gradually

Sculptra® does not fill on the spot: it encourages the skin to produce its own collagen, and the change is assessed over time. It is usually planned over several sessions when the skin has lost firmness or support. More details on the Sculptra® page.

Radiesse®: support in specific areas

Radiesse® combines a gel, which adds support to the treated area, and microspheres that encourage collagen over time. It is not used on every area of the face, and it cannot be dissolved with an enzyme, which is why the doctor chooses carefully where and how much. More details on the Radiesse® page.

How the decision is made

No product is better than another in general: one is more suited to your concern. In consultation, the doctor starts from your skin and what you want:

  • If your concern is dull or dehydrated skin, they may talk to you about Profhilo®.
  • If it is a general loss of firmness, about Sculptra®.
  • If it is a lack of support in a specific area, such as the jawline, about Radiesse® or a hyaluronic acid.

Sometimes the answer is a combination, or nothing for now. In every case we confirm the plan and the quote in writing.

Frequently asked questions
Which one looks most natural?

All three aim for a discreet result that is assessed over time. What matters most for a natural result is choosing the right indication and amount, and that is decided in consultation.

What about Profhilo® Structura?

It is another product from the Profhilo® laboratory, designed for other indications. If you are interested, ask us in consultation: the doctor will tell you whether it suits you.

Can they be combined with classic hyaluronic acid?

Sometimes, yes: for example, working on skin quality and, separately, a specific area. The doctor suggests a plan; you can see hyaluronic acid prices in our price guide.

How much do they cost?

Profhilo® from €300 per session, Radiesse® from €350 and Sculptra® from €500. The total price depends on the number of sessions and the amount, and is confirmed in writing.
